How many Muslims/Sahaba (RA) were martyred in the Battle of Badr?

In the Battle of Badr, the first major and decisive battle in Islamic history, a total of 14 brave Muslims embraced martyrdom. These martyrs are remembered with deep respect because their sacrifice played a crucial role in shaping the early Muslim community and strengthening the foundations of Islam. The battle took place in 624 CE (2 AH) between a small Muslim force of around 313 companions and a much larger Quraysh army. Despite being heavily outnumbered and less equipped, the Muslims achieved a remarkable victory due to their courage, unity, faith, and the help of Allah.

Out of the 14 martyrs, six belonged to the Muhajirun (the migrants from Makkah) and eight were from the Ansar (the helpers of Madinah). These companions stood firm alongside Prophet Muhammad (SAW), demonstrating steadfastness and dedication even in the face of extreme adversity. Their sacrifice symbolized the immense struggle the early Muslims endured to protect their faith, establish justice, and defend the message of Islam.
