Hazrat Hina was married to Imran (not to be confused with the father of Musa A.S). Together, they were a pious couple from the Bani Israel. According to Tafsir, they had been childless for a long time. One day, Hazrat Hina saw a bird feeding its young and wished to have a child herself. She then prayed to Allah with a promise: if granted a child, she would dedicate it to the service of Bayt al-Maqdis (Masjid Al-Aqsa).
Allah accepted her prayer and granted her a daughter — Hazrat Maryam (R.A), who later became the mother of Hazrat Isa (A.S). Though Hazrat Hina expected a son for religious service, she still fulfilled her promise, and Maryam (R.A) was raised under the care of Hazrat Zakariya (A.S), becoming one of the most honored women in Islam.
Her dua is one of the most well-known examples of sincerity and trust in Allah, often quoted in Islamic teachings about righteous parenting and sacrifice.
