The Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ personally participated in the construction of Masjid-e-Quba, the first mosque in Islamic history. This mosque was built shortly after the Prophet ﷺ migrated from Makkah to Madinah during the Hijrah in 622 CE. Upon arriving at Quba, a small settlement near Madinah, the Prophet ﷺ stayed there for several days and, together with his companions, laid the foundation of the mosque using simple materials such as stone, mud, and palm trunks.
Masjid-e-Quba holds great spiritual importance. Allah (SWT) mentions it in Surah At-Tawbah (9:108), praising it as a mosque founded on piety from the very first day. The Prophet ﷺ was actively involved in carrying stones and working alongside his companions, setting an example of humility, teamwork, and service to the community.
Even after settling in Madinah, the Prophet ﷺ regularly visited Masjid-e-Quba, often performing two rak‘ahs of voluntary prayer there. This mosque remains a significant place of worship for Muslims and is a must-visit location for those performing Hajj or Umrah.
