Ashab-e-Kahf, also known as the People of the Cave, are a remarkable example of faith and divine protection in Islamic history. Their story is mentioned in Surah Al-Kahf (18:9–26) in the Holy Quran. According to Islamic tradition, these young believers lived during a time when their people were worshipping idols and practicing oppression. To protect themselves from persecution and preserve their faith in Allah, they sought refuge in a cave.
Allah caused them to sleep in the cave for 309 years (according to the Quranic calculation, considering lunar years) as a miraculous sign of His power. During this period, they were preserved by Allah’s mercy, and the world outside changed completely. When they awoke, they found that the society around them had transformed, and their story became a testimony to the eternal power of Allah and the reward for steadfast faith.
