Which Prophet is referred to as “Zun-Noon” in the Holy Quran?

In the Holy Quran, Prophet Yunus (AS) is honored with the title “Zun-Noon,” which literally means “the one of the fish” or “the man of the whale.” This title refers to the well-known incident when Prophet Yunus (AS) was swallowed by a large fish after leaving his people in a moment of distress. His story is one of the most powerful examples in the Quran about patience, repentance, and the mercy of Allah. When he departed from his community before receiving Allah’s command, he faced a series of events that eventually led him into the belly of the fish. Alone in complete darkness and unable to find any means of escape, he turned completely to Allah with sincerity and humility.
