The first Sahabi (companion) of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to pass away was Hazrat Asad ibn Zurara (R.A). He was one of the early supporters of Islam from the Ansar of Madinah and played a key role in preparing the city for the arrival of the Prophet.

Hazrat Asad (R.A) belonged to the Khazraj tribe in Madinah.
