The event that took place on the night of 27th Rajab in the 10th year of Prophethood is known as Miraj. It was a very special and important moment in the life of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW). This event is also called "Al-Isra wal-Miraj".

First, the Prophet (SAW) was taken from Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah to Masjid Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem. This journey is called "Isra". After reaching there, he led all the previous Prophets in prayer. Then, he was taken to the heavens. This part of the journey is called "Miraj". During Miraj, the Prophet (SAW) met many Prophets like Hazrat Adam (AS), Hazrat Isa (AS), and Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) in different levels of the sky.

He was shown Paradise and Hell, and also many signs of Allah’s power. The most important thing that happened during this journey was that Allah gave the command for five daily prayers (Salah) to the Muslims. At first, 50 prayers were ordered, but they were reduced to five while keeping the reward of fifty.

This journey happened at a time when the Prophet (SAW) was going through great sadness. His beloved wife Hazrat Khadija (RA) and his uncle Abu Talib had passed away. This event gave him peace and strength to continue his mission.

Miraj is a miracle and a sign of Allah’s support for His Prophet. It also shows the importance of Salah in Islam. This journey was both spiritual and physical and holds a great place in Islamic history.
