During the lifetime of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), there were several kings and rulers who came to know about Islam. Among them, some respected the Prophet (SAW) and even sent him gifts as a gesture of goodwill and recognition. The first royal figure to do this was **Najashi**, the Christian king of Abyssinia (modern-day Ethiopia). He is known in Islamic history as a fair and kind ruler who showed great respect to the Muslims.

Najashi had already welcomed a group of early Muslims who migrated to his land to escape persecution in Makkah. He protected them and refused to hand them over to their enemies. When he learned more about the teachings of Islam and the character of the Prophet (SAW), he developed a strong admiration and sent royal gifts to him. This act was very meaningful, as it showed that Islam was being acknowledged beyond the Arabian Peninsula.

The Prophet (SAW) appreciated this gesture, and it helped build peaceful ties between the Muslims and the people of Abyssinia. Najashi’s gift was not just a sign of friendship—it also showed how the Prophet’s message was spreading and gaining respect internationally, even in the early years of Islam.
