Correct Answer: A. Hazrat Ali (R.A)

Detailed Explanation

The Fort of Qamus was a strong and heavily guarded fortress in the region of Khyber. During the Battle of Khyber, it was one of the last and most difficult forts for the Muslims to capture. The battle took place in 7 AH (628 CE) when Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions launched a campaign to remove the threat posed by the Jewish tribes living in the area who had broken peace treaties and were planning against the Muslims.

Several attempts were made to conquer the Fort of Qamus, but it remained undefeated due to its strong defenses. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) then declared that he would hand over the leadership to a man who loved Allah and His Messenger, and who was also loved by them. The next day, the Prophet (PBUH) gave the flag of command to Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib (R.A).

Hazrat Ali (R.A) was suffering from an eye infection at that time. The Prophet (PBUH) cured it by applying his blessed saliva to Hazrat Ali eyes, after which he fully recovered. Then, Hazrat Ali (R.A) led the Muslim army toward the fort. With his courage, deep faith, and fighting skills, he challenged the fort’s defenders and defeated Marhab, a well-known warrior and protector of the fort.

After a fierce battle, Hazrat Ali (R.A) successfully conquered the Fort of Qamus. His bravery and strength played a key role in this significant victory for the Muslims. This event increased his status among the companions and demonstrated his loyalty and commitment to Islam. The capture of the fort also marked the nearing end of resistance from the Khyber tribes.
