According to Islamic belief, Hazrat Musa (A.S) spent 40 days on Mount Sinai where Allah spoke to him and gave him the commandments written on stone tablets. These tablets were later placed in a sacred container called the Ark of the Covenant. The Quran refers to this event in several verses, confirming the special status of Musa (A.S) and his mission.

Muslims believe that all prophets brought the message of Tawheed (belief in one God) and called their people toward righteousness. The Ten Commandments are a clear example of that universal message shared by Hazrat Musa (A.S).
