Hazrat Khuzaima bin Thabit (RA) was given the unique and honorable title of "Zul Shadatain," which means "the one with two testimonies." This title was granted to him by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) due to his unmatched credibility and truthfulness.
The incident that led to this title occurred when the Prophet (PBUH) accepted the testimony of Hazrat Khuzaima (RA) as equal to that of two men. This special recognition came when a dispute arose regarding the ownership of a horse. Although there were no other witnesses, Hazrat Khuzaima (RA) testified in favor of the Prophet (PBUH) without hesitation. When asked why he did so, he replied that he had witnessed far greater truth from the Prophet (PBUH)—such as the revelations and the truth of Islam—and therefore had no doubt in such a minor matter. The Prophet (PBUH) then declared: "The testimony of Khuzaima is equal to the testimony of two men."
Because of this, Hazrat Khuzaima (RA) became the only companion whose single testimony was accepted in legal matters where two were normally required. This remarkable distinction led to his title "Zul Shadatain."
