Who can delegate extra powers to an Investigation Officer?

As per the PERA Force Laws, the delegation of extra powers to an Investigation Officer (IO) is solely within the authority of The Authority. This delegation may include additional responsibilities or special powers required to effectively conduct investigations, enforce compliance, or carry out specific enforcement actions. Other officials such as the Chairperson of the Board, Magistrate, or Hearing Officer do not have the legal power to confer such extra authority. By empowering an IO through formal delegation by The Authority, the law ensures that any enhanced powers are properly documented, lawful, and accountable, while also maintaining a clear chain of command. This mechanism safeguards the integrity of investigations and ensures that all enforcement actions remain compliant with the legal framework established under the PERA Force Laws.
