The largest district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) by area is Chitral. Located in the northern part of the province, Chitral is well known for its mountainous landscape, rich culture, and beautiful valleys. It covers a vast area of more than 14,000 square kilometers, making it the biggest district in KP in terms of land size.
Chitral shares borders with Afghanistan and is home to several high mountain ranges, including parts of the Hindu Kush. Due to its remote location and rugged terrain, access to the area has historically been challenging, but recent infrastructure improvements have helped connect Chitral with the rest of the province.
This district is also famous for its cultural diversity, particularly the Kalash people who live in the nearby valleys. Chitral is an important region for tourism and environmental studies because of its natural beauty, wildlife, and unique traditions.
