Which part of blood helps in clotting?

Blood is made of different parts, each with a special job. Red blood cells (RBCs) carry oxygen, white blood cells (WBCs) fight infections, plasma carries nutrients and hormones, and platelets help stop bleeding. When you get a cut, platelets quickly gather at the injury site and stick together to form a soft plug. Then they release chemicals that start a chain reaction, turning blood proteins into a clot. This clot acts like a strong patch, blocking the broken blood vessels and stopping blood from flowing out. This process is called blood clotting or coagulation. Without platelets, bleeding would not stop, which could be dangerous. That’s why platelets are very important in healing wounds and protecting the body from losing too much blood.
