The largest part of the human brain is called the cerebrum. It makes up about 80% of the total brain weight. The cerebrum is divided into two halves called hemispheres, the left and the right. It controls many important functions such as thinking, memory, emotions, and voluntary movements. The outer layer of the cerebrum is called the cerebral cortex, which is responsible for processing information from our senses like sight, hearing, and touch. It also helps in problem-solving, decision-making, and speech. Other parts of the brain, like the cerebellum, help with balance and coordination, while the medulla controls basic body functions like breathing and heartbeat. Because the cerebrum manages so many tasks, it is the largest and one of the most important parts of the brain.
