Microsoft Word provides several keyboard shortcuts that help users navigate documents quickly without relying on the mouse. One such combination is Ctrl + Page Down, which is commonly used to move to the next page in a document.
When working with a lengthy document, scrolling manually through every page can take time. Keyboard shortcuts make navigation easier and improve productivity, especially when editing reports, assignments, books, or other large documents.
The Page Down key by itself moves the document view downward by approximately one screen. However, combining it with the Ctrl key performs a different navigation action. In Microsoft Word, Ctrl + Page Down moves the insertion point to the beginning of the next page in the document.
It is also useful to understand the difference between this shortcut and other navigation commands:
Ctrl + Page Down: Moves to the next page.
Ctrl + Page Up: Moves to the previous page.
Page Down: Scrolls the document view downward.
Ctrl + Down Arrow: Moves the insertion point to the beginning of the next paragraph.
Down Arrow: Moves the insertion point down one line.
