The term Mauzatain (المعوذتين) refers to the last two chapters (Surahs) of the Holy Quran:
Surah Al-Falaq (Chapter 113)
Surah An-Nas (Chapter 114)
These two Surahs were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a means of seeking refuge and protection in Allah (SWT) from all forms of harm, including evil whispers, black magic, jealousy, and the influence of Shaytan (Satan).
The word “Mauzatain” comes from the Arabic root ‘Aadha’, meaning to seek protection or refuge. The Prophet (PBUH) recommended reciting these Surahs regularly, especially in the morning and evening, before sleeping, and during times of fear or distress.
