Surah Al-Baqarah is the second chapter of the Holy Qur’an and also the longest Surah. It contains a total of 286 verses (Āyāt). Revealed in Madinah, this Surah addresses key aspects of faith, worship, social laws, moral values, and guidance for Muslims in all areas of life.
The Surah opens with Alif Lām Meem (الم) and contains some of the most important verses of the Qur’an. Among them is Ayat al-Kursī (2:255), which describes the majesty and authority of Allah (SWT), and Ayat al-Dayn (2:282), the longest verse in the Qur’an, dealing with rules of debt and financial contracts.
