Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (R.A) is famously known as “Tarjuman-ul-Qur’an,” which means “Interpreter of the Quran.” He was a close companion and cousin of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and is regarded as one of the most knowledgeable Sahaba in the field of Qur’anic interpretation (Tafsir).
The Prophet ﷺ made a special dua for him, saying: “O Allah, give him understanding of the religion and teach him the interpretation of the Qur’an.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)
