The foundation of Masjid-e-Aqsa, located in Jerusalem (Al-Quds), was first laid by Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S), the Prophet and forefather of many other Prophets. After building the Kaaba in Makkah with his son Hazrat Ismail (A.S), Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) traveled to the region of Al-Quds where he established the foundations of a place of worship for Allah, which later became known as Masjid-e-Aqsa.

This holy site was later rebuilt and expanded by several Prophets, including Hazrat Yaqub (A.S) and Hazrat Suleman (A.S), who constructed a magnificent structure on the same sacred foundation. Masjid-e-Aqsa holds great spiritual significance as it was the first Qibla (direction of prayer) for Muslims before it was changed to the Kaaba in Makkah.

It is also the location where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) led other Prophets in prayer during the Isra and Mi'raj (Night Journey), making it the third holiest mosque in Islam after Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi.
