The journey of Isra and Mi’raj was one of the greatest miracles bestowed upon the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). This miraculous night journey consisted of two stages: Isra (the night journey from Makkah to Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem) and Mi’raj (the ascension to the heavens). During Mi’raj, the Prophet (ﷺ) was honored by meeting various Prophets (peace be upon them) at different levels of the heavens.
Hazrat Yaqub (A.S), who is also known as Prophet Jacob and the father of the twelve tribes of Bani Israel, was met by the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) on the third heaven. This meeting symbolizes the spiritual connection and continuity of prophethood across generations. Each prophet he met greeted him warmly and acknowledged his finality as the Seal of Prophets.

Therefore, while some traditions mention Hazrat Yaqub (A.S), the strongest narrations identify Hazrat Yusuf (A.S) on the 3rd heaven. Nonetheless, both belong to the lineage of Yaqub (A.S), symbolizing his representation.
