Hazrat Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA), the second caliph of Islam and one of the greatest companions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), initially opposed Islam and its message. However, his heart transformed after an emotional encounter with the Holy Quran, specifically Surah Taha (Chapter 20).
The incident took place when Umar (RA), while on his way to harm the Prophet (PBUH), visited the house of his sister Fatimah (RA), where she and her husband were secretly learning the Quran from Hazrat Khabbab ibn Aratt (RA). Upon reading the verses of Surah Taha, which are filled with divine mercy, guidance, and the story of Prophet Musa (AS), his heart softened instantly.
