Hazrat Isa (AS), a great Prophet of Allah, expressed his wish and prayer to Allah (SWT) to be among the Ummah (followers) of the final Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (SAW). This is because Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) was sent as the Seal of the Prophets (Khatam-un-Nabiyyin) and his Prophethood was the completion and perfection of Allah’s divine guidance for humanity.
Although Hazrat Isa (AS) was a messenger with his own Shariah (law) for the people of Israel, he recognized the supreme status of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as the last and most honored Prophet. Islamic teachings explain that when Hazrat Isa (AS) returns near the end of times, he will follow the Shariah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), acting as one of his Ummah and establishing justice on earth under the final divine law of Islam.
This reflects the unity of all Prophets, who shared the same message of Tawheed (belief in One Allah), and the honor of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as the leader of all Prophets and their followers.
Hazrat Isa (AS) prayed to Allah to become an Ummati (follower) of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is the final and last messenger, completing divine guidance.
Hazrat Isa (AS) will return before Qiyamah and follow the Shariah of Muhammad (SAW).
This signifies the continuity of the same divine message sent through all Prophets.
Demonstrates the highest status of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) among all messengers.
Shows the unity of Islam and the message of Tawheed from Adam (AS) to Muhammad (SAW).
