Hazrat Bibi Zainab (R.A) holds the honor of being the eldest daughter of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and Hazrat Khadija (R.A). She was born in Makkah nearly ten years before the first revelation of the Qur’an, making her one of the closest witnesses to the early life of the Prophet (SAW) and the initial phase of his Prophethood.

Zainab (R.A) married Abu Al-As ibn Al-Rabi, who was from a respected family of Quraysh. Despite being married to a man who did not initially embrace Islam, she remained steadfast in her loyalty to her father and her faith. After the Battle of Badr, when Abu Al-As was captured as a prisoner of war, Hazrat Zainab (R.A) sent her mother’s necklace as ransom for his release. Seeing the sentimental value of the necklace, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) released him without demanding anything further. Later, Abu Al-As embraced Islam and rejoined his family in Madinah, which was a source of great joy for both Zainab and the Prophet (SAW).

Hazrat Zainab (R.A) faced many difficulties due to the conflicts between Muslims and Quraysh, especially because of her husband’s delayed acceptance of Islam. Yet she bore these challenges with patience and courage. Her life is a reflection of sacrifice, loyalty, and perseverance in the path of faith.

She passed away in the 8th year after Hijrah (8 AH) in Madinah. Her short but significant life left behind lessons of devotion and steadfastness, especially for Muslim women.
