How many daughters did Hazrat Khadijah (R.A.) have with Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.)?

  • One
  • Two
  • Three
  • Four
Correct Answer: D. Four

Detailed Explanation

Hazrat Khadijah (RA), the first wife of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), was blessed with both sons and daughters from her marriage with the Prophet (SAW). Among their children, four daughters are especially remembered in Islamic history for their faith, character, and closeness to the Prophet (SAW).

The four daughters of Hazrat Khadijah (RA) and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) were:

  1. Hazrat Zainab (RA):
The eldest daughter, she married Abu Al-As ibn Al-Rabi. She accepted Islam early and endured many hardships for the sake of her faith.

  2. Hazrat Ruqayyah (RA):
She was married first to Utbah (son of Abu Lahab), but the marriage was annulled when Abu Lahab opposed Islam. Later, she married Hazrat Uthman ibn Affan (RA), the third Caliph of Islam. She migrated with him to Abyssinia and later to Madinah. She passed away during the Battle of Badr.

  3. Hazrat Umm Kulthum (RA):
Like her sister Ruqayyah, she was also married to one of Abu Lahab’s sons, but the marriage ended due to hostility against Islam. She later married Hazrat Uthman (RA) after Ruqayyah’s death, earning Uthman the title Dhul-Nurayn (the possessor of two lights) because he married two daughters of the Prophet (SAW).

  4. Hazrat Fatimah (RA):
The youngest daughter, Fatimah (RA), is one of the most beloved figures in Islam. She married Hazrat Ali (RA), the fourth Caliph, and became the mother of Hazrat Hasan (RA) and Hazrat Husayn (RA). She is honored with the title Sayyidat Nisa al-Jannah (Leader of the Women of Paradise).

Together, these four noble daughters carried the legacy of their father, the Messenger of Allah (SAW), and their mother, Hazrat Khadijah (RA). Each one faced trials but remained steadfast in their faith, contributing greatly to the early Muslim community.
