Detailed Explanation

Besides Hazrat Haleema (RA), the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) referred to Hazrat Umme-e-Aemon (RA) as his mother. Her real name was Barakah bint Tha'alaba. She was an Abyssinian woman who initially served as a slave in the household of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) father, Hazrat Abdullah (RA). After his death, she became closely attached to Amina bint Wahb and later to the Prophet himself.

When the Prophet (PBUH) was left an orphan, Umme-e-Aemon (RA) looked after him with love and care. She supported him in his childhood, youth, and even during his Prophethood. Because of her unwavering loyalty, compassion, and motherly affection, the Prophet (PBUH) often said, “She is my mother after my own mother.”

Hazrat Umme-e-Aemon (RA) accepted Islam in its early days and made Hijrah to Madina. She participated in many significant events in the Prophet’s life and was highly respected among the Sahaba. The Prophet (PBUH) also arranged her marriage to his freed slave Zaid bin Harithah (RA), and their son was the famous warrior Usama bin Zaid (RA).
